Donations in any amount can be made online or by contacting one of this year's captains. Individuals or groups who donate or collectively raise at least $1000 can nominate a volunteer who has made a significant, positive contribution in Fayette County.
All nominees will receive a certificate and special recognition at the Red Cross "Hero of the Year" celebration event at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 22 at the Griffin Gate Marriott- Lexington.
The 2010 campaign is co-chaired by Isabel Yates and Amber Philpott. This year there are 44 captains, the largest number of community leaders ever assembled to support the important local work of the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross.
