Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief Efforts
With the additional flooding in Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday and Wednesday, the American Red Cross has expanded its relief operations. Now operating in Pike, Carter, Lewis, and Rowan counties, Red Cross damage assessments indicate at least 250 homes have been either destroyed or heavily damaged.
Additional Red Cross staff members have been called in from around the country to assist with the relief operations. Relief efforts include immediate emergency assistance, such as sheltering, feeding, and distribution of bulk cleaning items, and client casework.
