Bluegrass Chapter Supports United We Serve
The Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross, in conjunction with President Obama's United We Serve initiative, is currently launching a Volunteer Recruitment Campaign for those interested in providing needed support and services to local veterans.  This summer, President Obama has called upon all Americans to participate in the campaign by serving their communities.  The Bluegrass Chapter has responded to his call for service by developing new initiatives and supporting exisitng in our Service to the Armed Forces Department.

The Bluegrass Chapter works to support active duty military service personnel, their families, and veterans. During times of crisis, families receive assistance through the relaying of emergency messages to their loved ones, whether they are stationed in the U.S. or abroad. Assistance is also given to those who bravely served our country.  Nearly 400,000 veterans reside in Kentucky, with 42,446 living in the Lexington area. Our goals are to increase awareness about the services we offer, provide help and needed services to our veterans, and increase the number of Red Cross volunteers. We challenge you to join our efforts to support our local military families and veterans.

For more information about getting involved, contact our Director of Volunteer Services, Deanna Merideth, at 859-253-1331 or email her.
